November 24, 2019
With so many choices at travelers’ fingertips it is of utmost importance to ensure that you are as visible to your audience as possible. If your property cannot be seen it won’t be booked!
Here’s 4 hot tips to maintain your online presence:
Ensure your brand is consistent across all channels.
Is the name of your property the same on all channels, and I mean exactly the same? You would be amazed at the number of properties that have slightly different nuances in their name depending on the site, particularly their direct booking site. Check yours today.
Do you appear in a Google Search of your property? Where in the rankings does your own BRAND.com website appear?
While it may be difficult for you to outbid the big players in the industry to obtain the top page placements – you should at least own your Google listing and have a link to your direct website or book now option through this function.
Are all of your images high quality and consistent across all channels?
When was the last time you had new photos taken at your property? While this is a cost that none of us like to pay regularly it is a must. The newer and fresher your images the more appealing your property will be. Have a look at what’s in your pics, are there items that date your property? Always choose the best photographer that you can afford – and ask to see their previous work before you sign on the dotted line. Are they proficient in taking photos of hotel rooms, there is a big difference in taking wedding and food photos compared to capturing a hotel/apartment room.
Social Media – you’re either in or you’re out.
If you decide to start a Facebook or Instagram page you must be committed to keeping it up to date. Social media and Facebook in particular is extremely powerful when used correctly but you must remain relevant by posting content that builds your brand. There are also ways to build your audience through competitions, special deals and the likes but it’s also important to play by the rules or you could find your page closed down. The most important part of the Social media puzzle is to ensure that posts lead back to your direct website or your phone number so that bookings can be easily made.
