Aussie Tourism is on The Up

Tourism Australia has reported a growth of 6.6% to a record 6.6 million inbound arrivals for the financial year 2014/2015.
Number one on the inbound arrivals list are the kiwis (New Zealand) with 1.2 million inbound tourists. However, China and India demonstrated the most growth
up 2.17% and 19.9% respectively.
Overall international tourism expenditure hit a “new high” of $33.4 billion in 2014/15, which is up 10% on previous statistics.
Minister for tourism senator Richard Colbeck described it as “the strongest expenditure recorded for a financial year since the Sydney Olympic Games.”
Meanwhile, domestic tourism also appears to be thriving with 83.2 million overnight trips recorded for the 12 month period – the highest on record.
